One sale gained, one lost (UPDATE)
TiVo accounced it is lowering monthly subscription fees for multiple units. The toll for the first unit is still $12.95 per month, but now subsequent monthly fees are $6.95 per unit.
While I'd argued awhile back that $12.95 per month for each unit was short-sighted, TiVo's new, lower rate isn't convincing. $3.95 per month would make it a no-brainer decision, even if I didn't plan to use the secondary box as rigorously as the primary.
Meanwhile, the amazing group of Tivovangelists at Tivocommunity.com are helping TiVo track all of its media mentions, whether in print, television, radio or movies. Most companies pay tens of thousands of dollars for this type of a clipping service. TiVo's self-organized group of customer evangelists do it for free.
