And my new computer is a...
I posted a few weeks back that I was ditching my aging Dell desktop and disappointing Sony VAIO laptop and replacing them with one machine. Click on the video to see how I decided.
It seems I am not alone in my choice. I want to thank the following people who evangelized that I should get this machine: Bill Kinnon, Michele Miller, Steve Rubel, Glenn Davies, Vinu, Bob Franquiz, Todd Sattersten, Ed Byrne, Rick Cummings, George Silverman, Clint Schaff, Marisa, Andrea Learned, Owen Mack, Jim Seybert, Austin White, Dmitry, Raven, Paul Williams, and Jeff Jarvis.
You were right, and I feel like I made the best decision.

Thanks Jackie - I know what I'll be buying next. The best part - you posted this on Tuesday the 8th, and on Thursday the 10th we used it at a blogging seminar as a prime example of consumer-generated media at work. The significance? The seminar was held on the Southern tip of Africa, in Johannesburg. Your video, your PB, and you - are getting around :)
How cool is that?
Very nicely done, Jackie. You even got the background music of the Switch ads.
Your video makes me regret that I haven't done anything with the video capability of my PowerBook. I have had an LCD iMac but it has little space left for video - so that's my excuse up until now.
Well, that does it.
I was a Mac user until I sold my promotion agency and joined a software company. I went through this kind of shock and finally got used to "not quite so good." But lately I'm leaning back that way -- and your video just did the trick. There's power in customer evangelism!
Congratulations, Jackie! I've been one of those "Apple people" most of my life, as you'ns know. One of those decisions that I've never regretted. My PowerBook (Flannery) accompanies me through work, play, and all the in-betweens ... across the country and the globe. As I'm sure your new PowerBook will.
Great video. :D
congrats!!!! you made it!!!!
One of those decisions that I've never regretted!!!
