"Who needs ad agencies when creative people at home have Macs and iMovie?"

With all due respect, talent is not ubiquitous. Talented people coalesce around points of high-density creativity.

While the Firefox and Godin ‘RFFP’s (requests for free proposals) may produce a gem in the portfolio of an aspiring artist, said artist will ultimately have to, y’know, eat and stuff. What’s more, that “Joe” might have passion for, say, print design, does not adduce that “Joe” has a passion (or aptitude) for what is involved in a successful freelance enterprise. As if that weren’t enough, great creative and great creative minds is/are refined and amplified by the discipline of collaboration that is present in an agency.
