Naked Conversations
Should you really take advice from two naked guys?
Yes, if it's these two guys. Robert Scoble (left) and Shel Israel stripped down at the launch party for their new book "Naked Conversations: How Blogs Are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers." (OK, they were only half-naked. See more pictures from the party here.)
And this isn't the real cover of the book; just a little Fun with Photoshop : )
Robert is a technology evangelist at Microsoft and Shel is a PR pro. Both the now-clothed writers are blogging evangelists, and their book reads like a manifesto. It's important for blog-averse businesses to understand and appreciate what blogs can do for their marketing, even if some big-media types are trying to spin a rumor that blogging is dead.
The book is ideal for blogging neophytes. It outlines basic dos and don'ts, best practices and how not to get fired for blogging. I dare say that even veteran bloggers will learn something new in the chapter about "Blogs and National Culture" and why blogs thrive in countries like France but not in others like Germany.
It's a good read, and I have already recommended it. But guys, keep the clothes ON!
[Disclosure: Ben and I were interviewed for the book and several quotes from us are included.]

[Read More]
haha, I'm glad that's not the real cover... until I read that part in the back of my mind as I'm reading I'm thinking ("I would never ever in a million years buy that book because of that cover").
