Hilton Hotels website needs beauty sleep

Don't try making a Hilton Hotel reservation from the company's website late at night. See below.

Do hotel computers need sleep between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.? If so, what do they dream of?

Typically, that's the time of night where all of the big IT processing jobs and system upgrades are performed. It's probably the lowest usage period for the website. It is strange that you can still book via the phone though...

Low usage time or not, this sort of Web "vacancy" is a hassle for customers. My local online grocer shuts down for similar reasons in the early morning, meaning I can't get my grocery shopping done while the rest of the family sleeps. I'd take my business elsewhere, if they had any competition.

Wouldn't you think they could do whatever they need to do in an hour or two? If this was going on in the blogosphere someone would make it happen, and quickly.

There's some chatter over at Performancing about bloggers' influence http://performancing.com/node/2497 that fits into this topic just perfectly.

That's what you get for not going to a Kimpton hotel. ;-) Just kidding...

Thankfully, I've never encountered that and I book through Hilton.com a lot. That's highly annoying.

Betsy,
If ONLY there was a Kimpton Group hotel in every city I visit, I would definitely stay there : )

I too faced problems during my last visit to there
