Why do bloggers blog? 77% say to express themselves creatively, 76% sid they blogged to document personal experiences, 59% did so to stay in touch with friends and family. Only 15 percent said they blogged in hopes of making money.

Product placement hits a new low. Not happy to just get a product in the scene from a TV show, desperate marketers are paying script writers to weave their brand name into actors' dialogue.

Seeing the show business community in a state of panic has caused them to do some stupid things.
In the case of the "scripted word from our sponsors," I don't get why they are concerned about the 10% of the general U.S. population that uses DVRs, when people have been abandoning the TV for other platforms in droves (for example young males).
I think that they are really trying to draw attention away from the real problems they have had for years. One of them is running things like they mean to make a little money from it.
The move toward having producers run things and hold people accountable is a good move.
Whether they have an actor or actress say a line or two about a product or service is far removed from the real problems they have.
