10 reasons why

Ten reasons why I've been MIA from here lately:

10. Jackie and I wrote a new book this summer, which must count for at least 500 blog posts.
9. We just finished retooling our first book for a paperback release next year.
8. We're also working on a documentary. Those things are crazy-hard.
7. Time in front of a computer screen has made me resemble the Pillsbury Dough Boy, so I have allocated an hour each day usually spent blogging going to the gym and trying to shed my unbaked biscuit look.
6. Needless brain cycles consumed wondering why most gym marketing is terrible.
5. It's taken awhile to clear a pathway into my office.
4. I needed to sharpen by BF2 skills.
3. Learning that Lonelygirl15 was a fake crushed my soul.
2. I've been planning to tour the country in an RV with with Richard Edelman.
1. What can I say that Perez Hilton hasn't already said?

Ben, you're a BF2 player? Me too! That's my core game of choice.

I'll be posting a podcast interview tomorrow that interviews one of the founders of BF2 Combat (www.bf2combat.net). It's an amazingly cool community system that adds massively multiplayer capability to a limited multiplayer game. If you're not signed up, you MUST try it out. It's $9 for three months, and I promise you you'll never go back to the traditional play again.

Jake -- I'm addicted to BF2. BF2 Combat sounds cool. I'll check it out!

Ben, don't worry about it. We know you have a life outside this blog. Just don't abandon us lol.

On a side, I can relate to number #6. May want to check out Crossfit.com. Everything a traditional gym is NOT. And much more.
Luckily enough, I discovered Crossfit about a yr ago thru one of Seth Godin's blog posts:...http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2005/12/where_do_sneeze.html
Changed my outlook on fitness for forever!

Cheers,
Steve

The Pillsbury Dough Boy is adorable - and he looks so happy!

That said, an hour at the gym is good for the soul (muscles and heart too!). Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself - just don't lose that Pillsbury db lust for life!

haha, great post.

I especially like the workout and BF2 comments. In response to the Crossfit comment, it is indeed a great gym, but be cautious not to work yourself too hard. I started their routine and even doing half I tore the tendons in my arms and have been out of commission for 6+ months in terms of any sort of upper body workout.

Nathan,
Sorry to hear about your injury man. What did your workouts look like before before switching over to Crossfit? I remember I gradually eased into the WOD's (workout of the day). I always tell ppl to do a scaled version first before they get the hang of it.
Anyway hope you get back on your feet soon.
