As a seasoned corporate documentary filmmaker, I've often wondered what makes a video "viral."

I'd be a millionaire if I knew!

One of the reasons why these things take off, IMHO, must come from archetypes we identify with.

The Magician, The Sage, The Innocent, etc. all play into stereotypes we connect with at some very deep level.

I'm not in a position to analyze viral videos as it's not my profession, but I bet it'd be really interesting if someone in the world of psychology offered their point of view on this subject.

BTW...a fabulous tool for identifying our own archetypes is the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator Assessment and it can be found here:

I took the test a few months ago and it's incredibly helpful in understanding how we relate to ourselves, others and the world.
