On making decisions
Tom Toles used the ridiculous hand-wringing over global warming to make his point with this carton, but it could easily describe how some organizations respond to a shifting marketplace.

Excellent point!
Are you kidding? "ridiculous hand-wringing over global warming"?? I enjoy your otherwise informative blog, but PLEASE spare us the now archaic neo-con world view that refuses to face the truth on any matter of significance that might somehow adversely affect profit margins. Being socially responsible and owning/running a business are not diametrically opposing pastimes. In the face of the now overwhelming scientific evidence supporting global climate change as a result of CO2 emissions from industrialized nations, such statements are akin to someone supporting segregation based on an old-timey belief in the "genetic inferiority" of another race (long since dis-proven). Sorry if that's using a shotgun to kill a fly, but it's important to drive the point home that there is little left to debate on this issue.
Warren -- By "ridiculous hand-wringing," I was referring to the people who call for more study and research before declaring global warming a real problem.
oops! sort of leaped before I looked there a bit I guess! thanks for the clarification. Keep up the good work.
I completely agree with you that there's little left to debate. I think most people are waiting for their elected leaders to actually DO something about global warming.
